Pet turf that was installed correctly and gets basic upkeep stays fresh for years. Pet turf that was installed with the wrong infill, or that has gone several seasons without attention, starts to hold odor, and once ammonia has built up in the infill layer, rinsing it with a hose accomplishes very little.

We also diagnose the underlying cause, because recurring odor usually means something structural. A standard landscape backing installed where pet turf belonged will never drain fast enough. A base built with fines instead of open-graded rock will clog with organic matter and stop accepting water. If that's what we find, we'll tell you plainly, including when the honest answer is that cleaning will only buy you a season and the system needs rebuilding.
